The City of Pembroke Pines is required to use all CDBG–CV funds for CDBG-eligible activities that are conducted to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus. CDBG–CV grants cannot be used for any other purpose.
The COVID-19 CDBG-CV3 Emergency Rental/Utilities and Mortgage/Utilities Assistance has been established for the purpose of helping homeowners and renters cope with the effects of COVID-19.
CDBG-CV3 grants are limited to providing funds for the purpose of bringing rental or mortgage payments current that are in arrears at the time of application. The grant will bring current up to six consecutive months of past due rent/utilities or mortgage/utilities up to a maximum amount of $15,000. No payments for future rent or mortgage payments (pay-forward) are permitted.
It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to maintain their rent and mortgage payments going forward having been brought current at the time of application.
This program is not intended provide long term support for the program’s participants; it is not intended to provide all supportive service needs of households that affect housing stability.
